Sushi gohan (sushi rice)
Ingredients
1 litre
uncooked short-grain rice
125 ml
rice vinegar
15 ml
sugar
15 ml
salt
Method:
Wash rice until water is clear and set aside for 2 hours before using.
Boil rice in 1,125 litres water for 5 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, then set aside for 15 minutes.
Mix vinegar, sugar and salt together. Place rice in a wide bowl and add vinegar mixture. Mix lightly together. Fan rice by hand until cool.
TOTAL KILOJOULE COUNT: 970 kJ (230 Cal). A portion: 245 kJ (55 Cal).
