More about Lannice Snyman

Culinary guru Lannice Snyman is one of the most highly regarded, versatile and prolific of the country's contemporary writers, consultants and publishers. Her niche company, Lannice Snyman Publishers, specialises in cookery books and contract publishing, as well as publishing of the annual V&A Waterfront Restaurant Guide.

Lannice is the author of 15 books, of which some 500 000 copies have been sold. Several have received national and international awards including Posh Nosh (Winner: 2006 World Gourmand Award: Best Book for Entertaining English) and Vin de Constance with Michel Roux Jr (Winner: 2007 World Gourmand Award: Best Book for Food and Wine Matching English). Her latest book, Fruit Art, is with photographer Malcolm Dare.

She was founder editor of the Eat Out restaurant guide, which she headed for 18 years. In 2006 she was the recipient of the 2006 Eat Out Lifetime Achievement Award for services to the hospitality and culinary industries.

She is a judge for Diners Club Wine List of the Year Awards and the Galliova Awards for food-writers.

In 2004 she was appointed Regional Chairman for Southern Africa and Indian Ocean Islands for The World's 50 Best Restaurants, organised by Restaurant magazine in London. For this she travels to culinary hot spots all over the world to check out what's happening at high-end eateries as well as to track international cuisine and publishing trends.
