How would you prepare scallops for a paella dish. Do you clean them, cut them or wash them

How luxurious to have scallops in paella ? lucky you! The edible part is white with the bright orange roe attached; trim away the beard and the black intestinal thread. Rinse, drain and dry them. Add to your paella at the end of the cooking time; they only require 3 to 4 minutes to cook.
