Question:

Hi,can oils/essential oils rubbed on the skin be bad for cholestrol? Is crayfish bad? Olive oil is good, but what about olives for cholestrol? Avo and avo oil for cholestrol?

Answer:
Janet Steer says:
My guess is that oils rubbed on the skin do not affect blood cholesterol levels. But, if you or any reader knows to the contrary, please let me know! Crayfish contains a moderate level of dietary cholesterol. It is not something you eat daily and therefore eating it on the rare occasion is sure to do no harm. Avocados and olives contain no dietary cholesterol. The fruit as well as their oil contain unsaturated fat and are considered healthy. Some people avoid avocados and olives when trying to lose weight. But, we all need 'good' fats. I believe that avocados and olives can be extremely beneficial when incorporated into a weight loss plan, provided that they are eaten in moderation.
