Clint Eastwood's daughter, Francesca, received threats after her artistic stunt with a Birkin bag. Crazy or cool?

Francesca and her photographer boyfriend, Tyler Shields, destroyed a Birkin bag worth more than R800 000 and then set it on fire.

The couple then posted the pics of the red crocodile skin Birkin bag being bitten, gutted with a chainsaw and then doused in gasoline and set alight on their site.

The blogpost which describes the bag says: "A Birkin is the most sought after bag in the entire world there is a waiting list and some of them can run upwards of $100,000 (more than R800 000)."

The pictures were captioned with the line: “Destruction is a beautiful version of freedom…”.

Many were horrified by Francesca's blatant waste of money in these tough economical times.

Comments on Tyler Shields website called the stunt "incredibly insensitive,” “disgusting,” “offensive,” “deeply stupid and pretentious” and “shameful.”

And, of course, there were numerous tweets and Facebook posts about the incident. Words like "whore", "cunt" and "bitch" were used to describe Francesca Eastwood. One person even went so far as to say; "You should kill urself" (sic).

Personally, I think the stunt was a bit insensitive, in light of the current economic situation, but to threaten Francesca and her boyfriend for being stupid, rich people? Not on.
