Renew your look this spring

Come out of hibernation with Women24 expert Tracy Gold's fresh fashion and beauty tips. Spring is finally here!

If you are feeling far from fresh and renewed, then maybe it's time to give yourself a little once over and consider some changes.  Don't despair if you know you want a change, but are unsure of what changes to make; rather use these ideas as a starting point to renew your look this season, leaving you feeling fabulously fresh.

Revamp your wardrobe:
If you tend to get stuck in a rut and wear the same styles all the time, it might be time to try something different this season.  When you next go shopping, go to stores you've always passed by but have not entered.  Try on styles you never thought to wear.  If it doesn't work for you, nothing is lost.  I always remind my clients that you learn just as much from styles that don't work for you as you do from the styles that work best.   My philosophy on the matter is nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Rejuvenate your skin:
There is nothing like the lizard look to make you feel like staying in hibernation.
Regular facials will keep your skin nourished and replenished, and will help you to maintain a youthful look.  Consider treating your whole body, not just your face, and book yourself a spa body treatment that will leave you glowing all over.

Freshen up your face:

Have you been applying your make-up the same way for a few years now?  If so, then it's time for a change.  Make-up trends change so it's important to re-assess your make-up routine at least every two years.  This season, freshen up your look with a good foundation that matches your skin colour and evens out your skin tone.  Go on the hunt for your perfect red lipstick shade.  There is a good shade of red for every skin tone, so don't be afraid to try a few until you find your perfect match.  It's time to flaunt those lips girls.

Change your hair:

There is nothing like a new hairstyle to make a woman feel brand new.  Consult with your stylist and discuss a new cut or colour that will be easy for you to maintain yourself.  If your hair is dry and frizzy from the winter, speak to your stylist about my personal favourite, a Global Keratin treatment (Brazilian blow dry) for healthier, sleeker and easier-to-style hair.

Decide that you are going to feel fabulous this season and be proactive about making the necessary changes to make this happen.  Remember that a change is as good as a holiday, so get moving.
