QUESTION
Hi Tracy, sometimes I really run out of ideas on what to wear. I have a very large bum that makes me feel very uncomfortable. I am now a size 40 but my bum is more like a size 42. Please advise on what I can wear?
ANSWER
Dressing for your body shape is about dressing for balance instead of covering up.
If your bum is your widest point, balance it out by emphasising your shoulders or your bust by wearing tops like halters, square necklines (for shoulders) or v-necklines (for bust). Your tops and blouses need to emphasise your waist so it shows the natural balance between your shoulders or boobs and hips and bum.
If your shoulders are small, make them look bigger by wearing a small shoulder pad in your jackets and wide collars. If you have small boobs, wear padded bras and high or detailed necklines to make them look bigger. Avoid tops that are too long in length or cut across your widest point. Rather wear shapely blouses that sit just above or below your widest point.
To balance your bum try wideleg trousers without pockets on the bum, that give you shape and a-line skirts. When the hem is the widest point, it balances everything else at the top. I hope this helps.
