Ask most women to name the most important item in her beauty arsenal, and she’ll say: ‘Mascara.’
There’s something about a quick lick of mascara that can wake up your face, without looking like you needed a shovel to do it. And the beauty houses know how addicted we all are to mascara... which is probably why we get such an incredible, some would say ridiculous, array of mascaras thrust at us in the media.
From lengthening to thickening, curling to non-clumping, ‘volumising’ to ‘defining’... I am unconvinced there’s any real difference, other than waterproof and non-waterproof. I began to suspect as much when vibrating mascaras came into vogue a while back, I mean... please people – what was that?
But hey, I’m no beauty expert. I’d love to hear from YOU. Do you think different ‘styles’ of mascara really make a difference? And which one would you recommend to your best friend?
