There are a few things that drive me crazy in winter. The rain, the cold, and the layers of clothing I have to pile on. But above all else, I can’t stand the effect it has on my skin.
It becomes dry, dull, blotchy and bumpy.
I’m normally quite lucky – my skin doesn’t blemish easily and looks all right without any make-up on. But, in between the freezing conditions outside and the moisture-sapping aircons inside, it feels as if the life has been sucked out of my skin.
Before, I was okay using your run-of-the-mill Johnson and Johnson’s – which fits in nicely with a limited budget too. But, I don’t know if it’s the fact that I now have a permanent job so I can afford better skincare, or if it’s my dry itchy skin that has made me eager to try something new… and perhaps, a little more “exclusive”. Anyway.
I recently spoke to the creator of Dr.Gobac, a cosmeceutical skincare range that seems to do wonders for the skin. They have a range of products including a serum, sun block and Vitamin A cream which sounds very impressive.
But, I’m not sure. It’s a tad too expensive for me, plus its main focus is on anti-ageing and as a 22-year- old, this isn’t necessarily my main concern at the moment.
Which gets me back to my point.
I need to find a skincare range that won’t bankrupt me, and will ensure that my skin is cleansed, moisturised and cared for without getting clogged up and greasy, while still fighting the effects of winter.
