Sweet Dreams
Give yourself a five-minute pressure-point facial massage before bed time. Dab your favourite moisturiser on your skin. Move the tips of your ring fingers in small, circular movements over the area between your eyes, above the bridge of your nose, around your temples, the corners of your nose on either side of your nostrils, the centre of your chin, the corners of your mouth and back up to your temples. Repeat three times, massaging slightly deeper each time.
Full steam a head
Invigorate your skin with a cleansing and soothing facial steam treatment by pouring boiling water into a basin – to which you've added the juice of half a lemon and a splash of rose-water.
*Add some rose petals for an extra sensory treat.
Steam your face for a couple of minutes by bending over the water with a towel draped over your head.
Japanese-style bath
The Japanese regard bathing as a relaxing ritual and not just for cleaning purposes, so they always shower or clean themselves before taking a bath.
Have an invigorating shower, then climb into a bath to which you have added the peel of grapefruit or tangerines. The aromas of citrus fruit are believed to have a calming effect on the senses.
