The art of quickies
Like fast food, there's something about the thrill of speedy sex that's really gratifying.
It might be worlds away from slow, luxurious passion, but sometimes instant satisfaction is just what you need.
Let me start off by saying that not for one nanosecond do I recommend that you let your passion lead you into a situation where you end up having quick sex with a man you don't know. You won't enjoy it, you won't feel good about it and it could even screw up your health and the way you feel about all your sexual encounters in the future.
Now that I've got that out the way, I do give the thumbs up to a quickie within a hunky-dory relationship.
Fast, furious passion
It shouldn't be your only way of making love, but sometimes spontaneously stepping out of your usual routine is an easy way to keep sexual passion burning.
What do I mean by a quickie? Go directly to penetration. Do not waste time kissing, undressing, touching or licking erogenous zones. The entire encounter will usually involve less time than it takes to poach an egg, unless your man has an extraordinary ability to hold back.
I know that this is totally the opposite of everything you normally hear: set a romantic mood, don't rush things. After all, why hurry to get through something that's one of life's greatest pleasures? All the same, there's something to be said for forgetting the hoopla every once in a while. No hands. No mouths. No talk. Just do it. It's like being told: "I must have you – now!"
So what if he's shaving and late for work, or you're busy paying the bills? For once, wouldn't it be wild to get swept off your feet (or knock him off his)?
Okay, so you might not have an orgasm because it'll be so quick. That's fine, as long as you enjoy yourself. Sex isn't a competition based on a points system. Variety adds a quality of its own.
Of course, it's a completely different story if all you have are quickies. Or if you never have an orgasm. Or if he always comes too quickly. Because, ultimately, the best sex is a warm and tender encounter between two people who respect, like and satisfy each other.
So, here are the rules on quickies:
You must get the art of prolonging sex under your belt before you can appreciate the intensity of instant sex.
Use a non-oil-based lubrication if you need to. Also, hasty doesn't mean careless; make sure passion and safe sex go hand in hand.

The men: Brendon
Brendon is into passionate love-making, but admits that an occasional quickie, lasting about five minutes, is welcome too. "I enjoy a quickie with a stable partner. Flings, on the other hand, need to be serviced well so that they come back for more. After all, it's a doggie-doggie (his favourite position) world out there," he says, with a naughty grin – and adds that elevators and his car are his favourite spots for a hot thang.
Mpumi
Mpumi loves things laid back and slow, but when the occasion presents itself, he goes for it. "It depends on where I am and who I'm with – I can give a woman a sizzling four minutes," he says of his prowess. Like Brendon, he has a fondness for doggie-style quick sex.
The women: Tumisang
Tumisang admits to being a bit of a wild child and adores a brief encounter whenever there's someone hot and available. "I love it as often as possible – even six or seven times daily, anywhere – preferably somewhere very risky!" she says, giggling. She, too, says doggie-style quick sex is great.
Sussie
Sussie is very upfront about her sex life. "I need variety in my sex life – and quickies are top of my list," she says. She looks for them as often as possible and, though married, she prefers quick sex with flings, rather than her husband. "I don't mind where it happens, as long as it's not in public where my husband can catch us. I have to be on top all the time – it gives me that sense of control."
