Q.

How do I find a job that makes me happy?

I am a 29 year old journalism intern, currently doing news for a community radio station. I would like to find alternate employment but I am clueless as to what to do because I want to find a job that is stimulating and challenging. I was considering the publishing industry as I love books, but what skills would I need? Please help I am confused and am desperately seeking some guidance.

Savannah, this is a very wide question that you have asked and one that I can crisply answer by advising that you make contact with the HR departments of one or two of the more reputable publishers.

You will be able to discuss fully with them the different positions that are available in this industry - and there are many. They will also be able to provide you with some insights into the knowledge, skills and competencies that one requires for the various position.

Good luck - I trust that you will achieve the job satisfaction that you are seeking in this new endeavour.
