QUESTION
OK. I'm at a crossroad at the moment. I've had a stable, decent paying job for the past 12 years. Now I'm getting really bored with being in the same industry. I have been feeling miserable at work lately, as my heart desires to work as a caregiver, teacher assistant etc... something in the caring field. Would I be making the wrong decision leaving my job as I would be basically downgrading. My salary will be less and everyone's saying I should stick around because it's hard to get good jobs. I need an honest opinion.
ANSWER
I would recommended doing this kind of work in your spare time - perhaps on the weekend to ensure your passion for caring is a lasting one. Many of us have hobbies and things we do or take part in that we love and are passionate about; but doing it everyday may take that passion out of it completely.
If you are sure that caring is something you want to do, then I say if you are happy to take the drop in salary to fulfill your life purpose then go for it! Life is so much more fulfilling when you are doing what you have been designed to do!
