My daughter is getting married in Herolds Bay - Garden Route on the 3rd of March, the wedding dress code is Simply elegant and I am not sure what to wear.
My weight is 85kg and the height is 1.60cm
Can you help me please or direct me.

ANSWER
Finding the perfect mother of the bride outfit can be a difficult task. Although the dress code of your daughter’s wedding is ‘Simply Elegant’, the final choice of your outfit can be influenced by whether the wedding is a morning, afternoon or evening occasion.
Generally speaking, for a morning wedding a slack suit, a smart day suit or a dress and short jacket is suitable. For lunchtime, afternoon or evening occasions you can wear a smart suit with a camisole or a dress and jacket. For a formal evening wedding a long skirt and top (or jacket) or a long dress is appropriate. It is also recommended that you choose an outfit with a matching jacket which can be worn in case of cooler weather and taken off in case of hot weather.
Please remember that it is important that all the mothers discuss their outfits with each other and the bride and that it is inappropriate for them to wear cream or white. It is often wise to try on different styles of outfits at various boutiques first before you buy or have something made. However, it is advisable to have your outfit made, instead of buying it, in order of avoiding the embarrassing situation of arriving at the wedding wearing the same outfit as a guest!
For the slightly fuller figure it is perhaps better to wear simple lines and to avoid anything with frills or a wide skirt. My advice to all attending a wedding (including the bride!) is always to wear an outfit and a hairstyle that you will feel comfortable in or else it will show.
Take care
