QUESTION
My Fiancée and I are planning to get married in Feb next year and we have a combined total budget of R40 000 for the ceremony and reception. We have roughly 120 guests that we would like to invite and we are really struggling to find suitable venues, We don't mind a mid week wedding but our family and friends are important to us,
Do you have any suggestions or advice?
Thank you.
ANSWER
I suggest that you try to get as many quotations from various venues as possible. An average wedding today can cost almost as much as a small motor vehicle - wrong choices and bad organisation can lead to costly mistakes. If your wedding budget is very limited, I seriously urge you to think twice about having an evening affair. the best way to reduce costs substantially is to host a breakfast, brunch or lunchtime event. Also, reducing your number ogf guests will have a ripple effect on all the costs; fewer table settings, chair covers, table arrangements and gifts, reduced quatities of food and alcohol, etc.
Best wishes
