Great question.
Yes I highly recommend you get your ring insured.
Not purely for the cost of replacement but also from the point of view that it is something very sentimental to you.
You can replace what it means to you.
Most wedding rings cost anything from R7000 to R100K plus so I definitely recommend insurance.
In saying that, if the value of the ring is under R5000 you may be comfortable with replacing it should the need arise.
It's a personal choice but I do recommend insurance.
All good jewellery shops will give you an insurance evaluation certificate when you purchase the jewellery. Keep it in a safe place.
